The history of water activities in the province was two decades before the victory of Islamic revolution. At that time, a team of experts from the Fars Province Studies Department sent to the region and scattered water resources of the province. In 1352, Khuzestan Water and Power Organization established a office called the Hydrology Office in Yasuj, which was pursuing the study of the sources of surface water in the province. After the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, this office was started under the supervision of the Fars Regional Water Authority and under the name of the provincial water affairs office. In 1983, the provincial water affairs office was upgraded and the preliminary studies carried out some of the construction projects and supervision of their implementation, and the stages of filing wells and motor pumps. In 1991, in the direction of decentralization in the Ministry of Energy and Development of Water Structures and the proper management of water resources, the provincial water affairs offices were formed and in 1993, the provincial water affairs administration was formed, which functioned as Fars Regional Water Authority, Bushehr and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad. In 2006, according to the bill of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the approval of the Guardian Council for the formation of regional water companies of the independent provinces, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad regional water companies started independently with their major activities and objectives, which are worthy of action in this regard. On the study, development, protection and exploitation of water resources and hydroponic structures.

 

Goals and activities of the company

The subject of the company's activity, in accordance with Article 7 of the Statute, is the recognition, study, development, protection, optimal utilization of water resources, the production of electric power water, the creation, development, operation and maintenance of water facilities and structures (excluding facilities and Water and Sewage Structures) and Hydroelectric Power, within the framework of the assignments contained in the relevant regulations and policies of the Ministry of Energy, in order to achieve the goals set forth in the company's articles of association within its scope.
